RSVP at the link in bio Organizations, state agencies, and community members from across the Olympic Peninsula will come together to discuss local climate priorities, share what’s already working, and identify barriers and opportunities for climate action in our region. As part of the evening, Jefferson Timber Cooperative’s Scott Freeman and Malloree Weinheimer of Chickadee Forestry will share how local wood processing can provide climate, forest, and community benefits — and the role a strong local forest and wood economy can play in supporting healthy forests and resilient communities. The commitment to local materials helped bring warmth and life to a place dedicated to healing and unity. For more than four decades, the Nipponzan Myohoji Order and the Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action worked to make this dream a reality. We're proud to support the 2025 Port Townsend Woodworker's Show and to be part of a panel discussing "The Future of Woodworking" along with Tlingit Carver, James Johnson. The event will be at the Pope Marine building in Port Townsend on November 1st from 5-9 pm, with the speaker series from approximately 5:15-7. This will be followed by a woodworker's social hour from 7-9.

#Jefferson Timber Collective is thrilled to be receiving our first truckloads of sustainably grown and selectively logged trees from the #Chimacum Ridge Community Forest which is part of the @#Jefferson Land Trust’s Chimacum Ridge Project. Felling was done by #Boots on the Ground, a small local forest services contract organization. Like JTC, the Chimacum Ridge Community Forest is trying to demonstrate how the benefits of locally managed forests flow to the local community. Much smaller, prior harvest have benefitted the #Long House for the People project in Quilcene and some lumber has gone to other local nonprofits like the @#Port Townsend School of Woodworking and the #Peninsula Trails Coalition.
